MicroDrop v2.0 support hangout

#1

Hey all,

We’re going to be available for a Google Hangout from 12-1pm ET today (just over an hour from now). If you are having any issues with the installation of MicroDrop v2, please join in and we’ll try to get you up and running.

If everything installed without issues, we’d like to hear about that too

Hi Michael,

Glad to hear you’re back up and running. The metadata plugin allows you to log different parameters associated with an experiment. For example, we were using it to log a device id and sample ids for a large field study we were conducting.

If you have a second webcam, you can scan QR codes to fill in each parameter. The parameter schema can be edited in the options window using a JSON string.

We will eventually get around to writing up some documentation

Christian,

The dmf_control_board_plugin (v2.2.10) resolved the serial port issue

I was having.

Can you tell me what the wheelerlab.metadata_plugin is for?

Thanks so much for the rapid assistance with this. I would also say

the youtube videos are a great contribution. Keep up the great work!

Hi Michael,

I’ve published the new `dmf_control_board_plugin (v2.2.10) which should

hopefully address the issue. Now MicroDrop will try connecting to the

control board on any serial port, but will try recognized Mega2560 USB

VID:PID ports first (see here for details).

If you’re around and have a chance to try it now, we’re online with a

MicroDrop support Google Hangout until 1pm ET today.

Thanks,

Christian
